Deployment Engineer – 3 Month Contract Dublin

ICT Services are currently seeking a Desktop Support Engineer, working on one of our customer sites in Limerick. This is a full-time position working onsite with our customer.

Position description

ICT Services is currently looking for a small team of Deployment Engineers to work onsite with a telecom company on a laptop refresh project. This will be a short-term contract focused on deploying a large batch of devices.

Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will have prior experience deploying new Windows 10 devices, excellent people skills, and strong problem-solving skills.
  • The candidate will work on imaging machines, migrating user profiles, installing customer-requested applications, and deploying the device as per the schedule.
  • Test and deploy the Windows 10 image on supported laptops, including setting up printers and other peripherals.
  • Keep track of all deployment issues — patches, features, permissions — on the Project site and ticketing system.
  • Migrate user profiles from old devices to new laptops using the MDT process.
  • Install requested application(s) on user machines.
  • Collaborate with operations, PC Lab, and Helpdesk resources to troubleshoot issues related to the device migration.
  • Work directly with the customer pre- and post-deployment to resolve any issues pertaining to the migration process.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent customer support skills (in-person and on the phone), excellent soft skills.
  • Extensive experience with user profile migration to new devices.
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory for Windows 10 group policy settings.
  • Familiarity with desktop image creation/deployment process.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft products such as O365, SharePoint, Outlook, and Skype for Business.
  • Software and hardware troubleshooting skills to resolve issues arising on new Windows 10 laptop devices.
