Infrastructure Support Engineer – Dublin

ICT Services are currently seeking a Infrastructure Support Engineer, working on one of our customer sites in Dublin. This is a contract role initially with a view to go permanent.

Working on one of our customer sites, this is a fast-paced and rapidly changing business environment which requires an individual with an energetic and enthusiastic approach, along with maturity, self-confidence and self-motivation.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage local IT/OT infrastructures including Computer room(s), OT Servers, Network equipment, OT workstations and any other system’s related equipment in the scope of Operations Technology.
  • Manage local OT equipment inventory and configurations
  • Single Point of Contact of Corporate IT department for any infrastructure related project or issues
  • Provide support to the client’s physical and virtual servers, applications, SAN storage and Network along with Desktop support.
  • Manage IT systems, providing front line support for operational issues, asset replacement, system upgrades and Data Integrity Assessment & Remediation
  • To act as the Single Point of Contact and figurehead for Global Security / Global IT for all cyber security matters at the site level.
  • Maintain operating conditions and ensure the overall availability of physical infrastructure and logical resources.
  • Ensure proper monitoring and backup of systems.
  • Monitor and analyse performance, implement measures to improve quality or productivity.
  • Update procedures, manuals and documentation.
  • OT Cybersecurity of shopfloor devices, access management, backup plans, VLAN management, port enabling and disabling alongside the network teams.
  • Provide technical hardware, software and coding expertise to ensure systems are provided and maintained to meet business compliance and performance requirements.
  • Responsibility for ongoing support, monitoring and management of:
  • Virtual cluster based on vSphere 5.x Essentials Plus
  • Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2012
  • Server hardware
  • SAN Management
  • Variety of customer projects utilizing all above technologies as well as:
  • Active Directory 2008/2012

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5+ years proven experience in an infrastructure support background.
  • Recognized industry certification (e.g. CompTIA Security+, CISSP or similar)
  • Aptitude for solving problems and acting on own initiative.
  • Strong team player highly motivated with a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team
  • Customer facing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and being an effective communicator, able to deal with people at all levels, both within and outside the business.

Technical skills:

  • Hands-on IT experience in security technologies, for example, DLP technology, firewall configuration.
  • Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2012
  • VMWare vSphere 5.x Essentials/Enterprise/Enterprise Plus
  • Server hardware
  • HCI experience
  • Networking experience
  • Inventory and Configuration management
  • Backup technologies and BCP/DRP knowledge
